Catholic Apps - Amen and Hallow.

Updated: Nov 20, 2022

Both Amen and Hallow are wonderful Catholic apps to provide audio content. Great for those of us on the go or to help us as we start our day or to end it in prayer.

Amen is a free app from Ascension Press. It offers daily mass readings and reflections from Tim Gray. Audio content for spiritual growth, comfort, healing, mercy, anxiety and courage. Evening prayer, bedtime stories. This app, which was recommended by a fellow member of our men's group, is one that I am still learning about. It is totally free.

Hallow is another terrific Catholic resource, but it only offers a free trial of 14 days, which typically requires one to enter their payment method to begin to be charged after the trial. The price is either $8.99 per month or $59.99 for one year.

One of my favorite resources is the reflection of that day's gospel - Jonathan Roumie (the actor who plays Jesus in The Chosen) reads the gospel and Jeff Cavins provides the insightful reflection of that day's reading. This site also provides the Sunday sermons from both Father Mike Schmidt and Bishop Barron, great way to prepare before attending Sunday mass. You can listen to the Bible in a Year series from Father Mike Schmitz on tihs app. I like how they have it broken down into sections so I can listen to the Gospel of Luke without going thru many other books of the bible first. I have found comfort in their "night routines", namely sleep meditation and sleep examen soundtracks. There is also alot of wonderful content about the saints.

I heard on Jeff Cavins daily reflection on November 17, 2022 that he was offering a free 3-month subscription by loading the app using the following link.
